Amazing Tamales ! Delicious and moist without being greasy--salsa verde and habanero on point ! Don't miss a chance on actual legit chicharrones that remind me of childhood with chunks of pork belly attached--or their gorditas. PS Spanish speaking helps

It is minutes from SPI just across the bridge and well worth the 5 minute drive. AUTHENTIC, perfectly seasoned and just plain perfect, especially the tamales! The Barbacoa is a must eat! Chille Relleno is lightly breaded and so flavorful my wife's eyes lit up like she was seven and got that Furbie she asked Santa for! They even took refried beans to a whole new level of flavor! Will be back and HIGHLY recommend!

As a foodie, was somewhat disappointed with the options on SPI. Rarely am I interested in 'fine dining', rather want love finding simple delicious foods well prepared, supporting the local mom and pops. Just across bridge sits this amazing business, and has renewed my interest in returning to the area. I expect great Mexican food in South Texas, and it has been found. The gentleman working was courteous and patient, helping me order as I do not speak Spanish The Veracruz tamales were amazing, so flavorful and the masa maintained its moisture and lightness. The corn tamale was not as light or moist unfortunately but the flavor was still there. Beans were well seasoned, loose with texture as I like. The chile relleno was exactly how I prefer, chile not over roasted and maintained meaty texture, generous wedge of panella cheese (I suspect), lightly battered. Appreciate that they are served not smothered in a Roja sauce as it masks the light crispy texture of the egg wash. We ordered an obscene amount of food, in addition to sides of pico and a small bottle of crema for just over $30. So grateful we found this little place, as it will standout in our trip memories. .

Delicious! Must get and drive-through is so convenient. We bought the Barbacoa, Carnitas, tripas, corn tortillas, and green salsa and some pork tamales. Everything was on point! Order by the pound!

Like everyone says, it's definitely a hole in the wall. Knowing Spanish is extremely helpful here and they will tell you to keep moving if you can't figure out what you want. When you come, you ask for meat by the plate or by the weight. The barbacoa is the real deal and delicious. You can also ask for various salsas and topping for your meats. The tamales are 6 per order. I got the pork ones and they're fine with some salsa on top. If you're wanting to have a family lunch on the beach, I'd recommend stopping here and loading up to create your own tacos/tortas.

A local hot spot! Wonderful authentic Barbacoa and salsas! I can't say enough good things about this place! We live here and just recently discovered them when we bought their pre made Masa for Christmas tamales. We went back and got tacos and their already made tamales. Both were good but the tacos and salsa were amazing!

This place is drive thru only when we visited. Ordered barbacoa (all meat) and tamales (corn pork). The barbacoa did not disappoint. However, I tend to like savory foods and the tamales could have used more spice and meat. The line was long but went by fast.

This is a hole in the wall place, if you'd are not local you won't find it. They have some authentic Mexican food, barbacoa, tamales, and some stuff I was not even familiar with. The food is as authentic as tog can get, and priced really low.
